Packing is often the first step of your moving process. Getting this part right ensures the rest of the process goes smoothly. The packing process should begin a few days or weeks before the moving date to ensure you do it right. This piece provides a few valuable tips for specific items to ensure you pack safely and efficiently.

Electronics and I.T. Equipment

One of the most crucial items that move are a company's electronics. Hudson River Moving & Storage, will provide static free bubble wrap bags for all monitors. We have sizes that fit your standard monitor to MAC machines.

Additionally, we provide large zip lock bags for all peripherals that would go with your computer setup. Lastly, your computer setups will then be packed in large corrugated bins and wrapped with protective blankets to ensure a safe move for your most valuable assets. We also have specialized boxes to move all of your office A.V. equipment.

An inadvertent accident during the move could cause massive data loss. Therefore, as the saying goes, it is better to be safe than sorry. Create a backup of all your essential office files. This way, you have an easy time getting the office on track if there are any issues with your servers.

Books and Documents

Prior to your move, Hudson River Moving and Storage will deliver boxes or crates to your office. This allows your employees to get a jump start on packing their books, documents and files.

Your office may contain sensitive documents such as the articles of incorporation, financial records, strategic plans, employee files, and trade secrets. Usually, these documents are only accessible to specific individuals.

Hudson River can provide many features to ensure these files are transported safety. For example, numbered zip ties for each crate, truck locks, and security carriers. We understand the importance of moving sensitive materials.

Furniture

Your office contains furniture such as desks, chairs, and cabinets. In some cases, the furniture is fragile wood that could easily break or chip during the move. So, how can you prevent this during the move?

An easy approach is to dismantle bulky furniture such as sofas and desks. This way, you do not damage the furniture when navigating through narrow hallways and exits. Moreover, we wrap the furniture in protective blankets and shrink wrap to prevent scratches as you move.

We also deploy moving equipment such as dollies, furniture straps, carpeted A-frames and step boxes when moving and loading the furniture. This prevents the risk of damage during transit. Lastly, our drivers will strap the furniture inside the moving truck to avoid collisions.
